Halong Bay, or as it is known in Vietnamese “descending dragon bay”, is a body of water in the Gulf of Tonkin, a little over 100 miles east of Hanoi. The area is famous for the thousands of limestone karsts, islands and islets that thrust straight from the emerald waters and tower over the surrounding landscape.
Halong Bay was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, but archeological evidence suggests that the areas waters and caves have been occupied by various cultures as far back as 18,000 BCE.
On our little adventure, Sarah and I decided to spend the night on one of the hundreds of boats that take tourists out to stay overnight on Halong Bay in Vietnam. We opted for one of the mid-range “luxury” boats so we could have a (surprisingly large) private cabin and kind of be pampered for a few days.
As is common in the area, it was predominately cloudy weather, but we did manage to fly the drone off of the top deck of the boat several times. The landscapes are so stunning that I am sure we will be back soon. I hope you enjoy the video!

That is a great video Johnathan. I just recently started dabbling in drone videos myself and am inspired by this one as it so good. What kind of drone did you use?
