When I began my retirement travel adventures over six years ago I never envisioned the places I would see and the experiences I would gobble up in LifePart2. Even though I view my adventures as part of a life well lived, many people see what I have undertaken as, somehow, risking it all. My story has resonated with the folks over at Warner Brothers Pictures, and they have asked me to help get the word out about their new movie “Going in Style” which opens on April 7th. The movie is a story of three friends who, for the first time, take a step off of the straight and narrow to retrieve the retirement money, which they earned, from a bank that has absconded with it. Crazy idea for a plot and I can’t wait to see it.

Sometimes to have a good life, and click off some of those items on your bucket list, you just have to spread your arms, hold your breath and make a leap of faith. It can seem scary at first but try it a hundred times, and you may find that limiting, (falsely) protective, bubble you have been living in is gone, and a world of possibilities has opened up to you. I am not advocating doing what the three buddies in the film did to regain control of their lives, but there are always steps we can take, no matter our age, to push our boundaries, surprise ourselves, and make some incredible memories.
I am not saying you have to go to Vietnam to eat the beating heart of a cobra or fly to China to walk along the edges of Tiger Leaping Gorge (you should), but it is important to let loose and live a little. Do not postpone your happiness and never let anything stand in your way. Like the characters in the “Going in Style” discover, sometimes the biggest risk in life is never taking any risk at all. With a storyline and a cast like this, I am looking forward to getting some popcorn and enjoying the show. #GoingInStyle
