One of my favorite retirement adventures from last year was going on a small boat expedition cruise around the Australian state of Tasmania with Coral Expeditions. I had not visited that gorgeous corner of the world before, and I was very excited to receive their invitation. I discovered that not only is small boat expedition cruising radically different than plying the seas aboard 10,000 passenger floating cities, but it also is relaxing, luxurious and, given the small size of the vessels, affords a bit of flexibility in itineraries.
I was just taking advantage of some downtime in Portugal to get caught up in the business of organizing and making available for sale, many of last year’s photographs and I wanted to share some more of the images I made in Australia. It was a beautiful time, and I hope to be able to return in the new season and travel aboard one Coral Expeditions new boats and make some more photographs on a different itinerary. It is hard to imagine a better experience than the last one, but I am always willing to try!
I was lucky enough to be able to make these images because our boat, the Coral Expeditions I, was nimble enough to make it into small anchorages.

Love the photos and that you put down the lens you’re using while shooting! Thanks for sharing your journey to Tasmania.
Tasmania is such a beautiful part of the world and you have captured the beauty in your images. Thank you
We love Tassie. We didn’t get to Bruny Island on our last trip but definitely want to visit. It is such a beautiful place and your photos are amazing.
I absolutely loved our visit to Tasmania but a week was not nearly enough, next time we will take the caravan and plan to stay for a few months. Such a scenic island. 🙂
Tasmania is my favorite country to travel to. Many of your pictures brought back my memories of our visit. Some pictures like of Maria Island and Bruny Island are best seen from a boat than visiting them. I loved your post! Thank you!
