I came across this pot of Tea Eggs in the China Town are of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Tea eggs are regular eggs, boiled in a concoction of tea and other spices; commonly cinnamon, fennel seeds, star anise and cloves. They are also called Marble eggs because of their appearance after they are peeled. Although the recipe originated in China they are commonly sold in street markets throughout the world as a savory snack.
I took the photo because I like the earth toned colors and the patterns made by the cracks. I made the image with my Canon EOS 6D 20.2 MP DSLR with theEF24-105mm IS Lens Kit. I didn’t get a chance to try the eggs this trip but I am sure the opportunity will arise soon.
Nice work Jonathan Look. I saw this on your G+ and shared. One thing probably don’t know. Since it’s soaking in the tea, you actually get the benefit of washing out the fatty and greasy stuff in you digest system.
I haven’t really find the tea egg in the US like circle K or 7-11.
Good for you that you can have so many great foods there in Asian. Cheers!
