I am wanting to try some new things out some new technologies on the blog. Facebook has begun incorporating what they call 360-degree photos into their news feeds and I wanted to see if I could make it work on the blog. While the photography is usually not as good as professional photography or 4K video, these scrolling panoramas are a fun and compact way to create an actual feel of a place (I just shoot them with my iPhone). If they work smoothly on the page, I plan to incorporate them into posts on our mini-adventures around the world.
I made this scrolling image as the fog moved in during a dog walk along the Atlantic Ocean as we walked along the cliffs of Atalaia, Portugal. If you don’t see an image above this line, you should be able to click on the image below and it will take you to a website with other scrolling images I have made just playing around the area.

If you have any problems, or you just think that this is a cool feature, please let me know. This is just kind of an experiment and I want to make sure everything is working before I start incorporating these images in other places.
It works smoothly. Can you slow the panning down a little for more complicated photos? The speed is fine for the ocean, but it would be too fast if the content of the photo had more things going on.
Thanks Kelly. I think I can slow it down. I will give it a try on the next post.
The whole thing looks straight out of a story book;)
