This is a short film I assembled from video and still images I shot with my iPhone 6S+ during our 30-day walk on the Camino de Santiago from St Jean Pier du Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain in May 2016. We had an amazing time on the “Way of Saint James” and I wanted to make an easy way to share it.
I tried to choose two clips from each day and keep everything in sequential order. It was very difficult to choose which of the 2,000 or so images I shot over the 30 days and I often had to choose, not what I necessarily thought were the best images, but images that represented the trip. Naturally, a lot of things were left out and there were, of course, many amazing moments I didn’t record.
Because we carried all of our own gear, we were very weight restricted and I didn’t bring along a DSLR or video camera. I actually think the iPhone did a very respectable job and I did very little editing other than assembling the clips.

Thanks Maggie! Many more adventures to come!
Oh My….
Beautiful … My sister and I were there in May 2016 ..
Best part of travel are the people we met.
Thank you for all these post.
We loved it so much we are thinking of another Camino soon!
We just walked two weeks on the Camino Norte from Bilbao to Gijón, what an amazing experience. I would have liked to do more. We ended in Santiago de Compostela the year before, walking from Oporto, which was also beautiful. I’m already thinking about my next Camino!
Funny how hard it is to get the Camino out of your system. We are thinking of going from Oporto next year!
This is on my bucket list and your video is so inspiring, I will have to get it done!
Well done for putting this video together. I’ve done a few compilation videos like this and I know what a long process it is, but well worth the effort because now you have a visual memory of your adventure. Smart move to take the systematic approach you took to of 2 for each part of your trip, if you hadn’t done this, you would have been overwhelmed with where to start and never had created your video.
