When I am traveling I am usually pretty diligent about making photographs, but when I am at my home base in Vientiane, Laos I often forget how many and amazing things are literally right in my own neighborhood. For the last several afternoons I have been going out and taking pictures along the Mekong River and in the local temples. I have already filled up a memory card and still feel like I have only scratched the surface of what there is to photograph. This from just a ten-minute excursion to one of the four Buddhist temples that is less than a five-minute walk from my front door.
